Bird Watching– Whether an ornithologist, a casual birder/lover or a bird photographer, Bhutan is the place where you can find over 670 species of birds and yet many more to discover. Bhutan is a home to many species of birds that are in danger of extinction including the Imperial Heron, which is one of the fifty rarest birds in the world and also the rare Black-Necked Crane which breeds in Tibet and migrates to Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan during winter season.

Around 50 species of the known birds are winter migrants such like ducks, waders, birds of prey, thrushes, finches and buntings. Baer’s Pochard, Blyth’s Kingfisher, Dark-rumped Swift, Gray-crowned Prinia, Great Hornbill, Lesser fish-eagle, Palla’s Fish-eagle, Woodsnipe, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, etc are some of the comprehensive endangered of Bhutan.

Bhutan is an ideal place to see a wide variety of birds that may be difficult to see to any spot.
